The ChimeOut works like a charm!

Aaaah, you have a beautiful new wind chime blowing in the breezes outside. - the  music is gorgeous, slow and soft. And then the wind picks up right as you're heading to bed. Oh dear, that chime now wakes you up every half hour or so, every time the breeze gets a little stronger. If only you could turn the chime off during this windy night...  This was the problem that we kept hearing from customers awhile back - how to quiet a chime.

One night while having dinner with friends, we talked with them about how customers wanted a way to quiet their chime. Jeff shared some of his initial ideas and designs, and the ChimeOut was born!

At that dinner, we were all parents of young children, so the name "ChimeOut" is a play on words from "Time Out" for kids. Clever, eh? That's Jeff for you.

When customers first started calling us about a chime silencer, I admit it - I didn't really "get it." BuyChimes sells chimes, made to ring and resonate with music - why would we want to silence what we were trying to sell?! Until... one night I was visiting my parents home and awoke every hour to their grandfather clock chimes. Aha! The music is even lovelier when you're able to silence it now and then!

First and foremost, the ChimeOut is easy to put on and off; you don't need to take the chime down to do it. Its simple design of a waterproof foam that secures each tube in place has proven highly effective for windy weather, boisterous children, or overnight guests sensitive to noise. And it's economical too - only $20 for the large (fits most six-tubed chimes with tube diameters of 1 1/2 - 2 1/4 inches) and $10 for the medium (first most six-tubed chimes with tube diameters of 5/8-1 1/4 inches.

Now if only I had a PetOut for Frankie’s early morning tugs on the blanket! :)
