Engraved Wind Chimes: All You Ever Wanted to Know and More!

Where do you engrave on the chime?

The wind sail, the piece that blows in the wind, is the only part of the chime that we engrave.  We do not engrave the tubes themselves, nor do we recommend it, for many reasons.  If you see chime tubes engraved, it's most likely screen-printed, not actually engraved.

What if the engraving isn't right or doesn't look good?

Rest assured. We've been engraving chimes for years now. We've tweaked and figured out all the ins and outs of the process. We're confident that you'll be delighted in the outcome. In fact, if WE'RE not happy with the engraving, we simply re-engrave it. We take the time to make it right - even if that means a phone call to customers explaining why the chime shipped a day later than anticipated. And if YOU'RE not happy with the engraving, please just call us!  We'll make it right.

Can I engrave on both sides of the wind sail?

Two wind chime brands are possible and available for two-sided engraving: the Corinthian Bells and the Shenandoah Melodies. The wind sail is a flat circle, without any manufacturer engraving already there. So yes, you can do a double engraving on those chimes. Simply indicate that on the order instructions during checkout and we'll be sure to set up a proof for final approval before we engrave.  The cost is $10 per side, whether it's the same on both sides, or a different image/text on the second side.

I'm a picky person! And I love the engraving preview pane on the website, but I really want to know how it will look before it gets engraved. Can you help?!

No worries. Just let us know that you'd like a proof (order instructions when you're in checkout) and we'll be happy to set that up and email it to you. Usually, you'll get an email with the proof within the day.  And often, we get creative and set up a couple proofs for the customer to choose.

Oh no! I told you the wrong date of birth for my loved one's memorial chime. What do I do now?

We'll simply re-engrave a new sail. We won't charge you to re-engrave it; you'll only pay for the new sail and postage. Just give us a call and we'll figure out the details. If the engraving was done incorrectly (we messed it up!), of course, there won't be any charge to you.
