Engraved Chimes

Carolyn | Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in Chime info, Gift info, News | Comments (0)

BuyChimes has done special engraving for customers for years. But we’ve been patiently ensuring that engraving will be successful. We wanted to “get it right.” And we have. Starting with a special Mother’s Day engraving last spring, we tweaked the process, then began offering engraving on Grace Note chimes in the Fall. Corinthian Bells and Shenandoah Melodies chime engraving came on board this Winter. And judging by the orders, our customers are happy for the option! (Psst – Mother’s Day is right around the corner, you know…)

The best part – we’re partnering with another small, family-owned business to offer this service. Eddie Camper and his wife, Tanya, have been engraving for years, and had seen it all, until BuyChimes walked in the door and showed them a wind sail. How great for us! How great for them! And even better, how great for our customers.

Is there another “extra” that we could offer customers to make gift-giving even better?! We’d love to know it. Respond to this article – or simply call me (877-293-6395).

February Featured Chime

A little background:
So many chimes… so tough to choose! So often, customers call us, overwhelmed with all the delightful wind chimes that are out there on the BuyChimes website. We understand, truly! When we bought this business five years ago, we felt the same way. So we get it.

Which is why we’re creating a monthly in-depth feature on one chime. Just one. How easy! You’ll learn all you’ve ever wanted to know about the featured chime. But of course, if we missed something or you still have questions, just pick up the phone & call. As we often say… “We’re here. We’re friendly. And we know these chimes.”

BV516The Featured Chime for February: The Bells of Vienna 50-inch wind chime
The BV516 is a gorgeous, medium-sized wind chime. With 1 1/2 inch diameter tubes, its deep tones in the scale of A are clear and resonant. What makes this particular chime stand out is it’s perfect proportions – both in diameter and length of tubes, as well as the generously sized top crown and wind sail. With a curved sail, the 50-inch chime more easily catches the wind than those chimes with flat wind sails.

Once customers experience a Bells of Vienna chime (no matter the size), they often return to the same chime line for gift-giving and ultimately, buying a bigger size for their own back yard. How very smart! It is available for $169.98 in five popular colors: Black, Green, Patina Green, Copper Vein and Midnight Blue. And as always, shipping is free to standard street addresses.

Check out all the specifications for the chime here - but if you have more questions or simply want us to ring the chime over the phone to you, just call. We’ll be happy to set up a “listening date” just for you. There’s a sound sample on the web page, but sometimes, you just need a little more – we get that too.

As with all our featured monthly chimes, we’ll throw in a Free Carabiner (D-ring hook) to help you hang the wind chime. No need to select that when you order…. we know the featured chime, we won’t forget your freebie. Promise!

Spread Love

Carolyn | Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in Random stuff | Comments (0)

Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own home.
Give love to your children, to a wife or husband, to a next-door neighbor.

Mother Teresa

Love these words from Mother Teresa for this Valentine’s Day. So often, we think that life’s problems are too big for us to really DO anything about…. unemployment, poverty, homelessness, the list goes on and on. But Mother Teresa’s words encourage each of us to do this simple task, day in and day out – with great forgiveness and compassion. And VERY good things will happen – perhaps even bring about great change to one of those big problems!

Two_left_hands_forming_a_heart_shape2 Such simple advice… Spread Love. First of all, in my home. Sometimes tough. Always important.

How will YOU spread love this Valentine’s week? Love to hear from you all…

(Pssst – Promise I’ll be back with a more wind-chime focused blog entry soon. I just HAD to share this quote this week!)

Love that chime

If music be the food of love, play on,
Give me excess of it; that surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken, and so die.

Twelfth Night Act 1, scene 1, 1–3
William Shakespeare

As you saw on the BuyChimes home page, we’re engraving wind chimes for Valentine’s Day gifts. Such a very personal gift – wonderful! Several curious folks out there called & wondered where the engraved quote on the home page, “If music be the food of love, play on,” came from. It is a lovely quote for a lovely time of year – so now you know – it’s from the Bard himself.

Of course, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. If you’d like to send an engraved U.S.-made chime this year (who needs another box of chocolates?!), we’re here and happy to help you select the “just-right” one. (Engraving is available on Corinthian Bells, Shenandoah Melodies & Grace Note chimes.) Just call or email…
