Doing Nothing on a warmish February day

Doing Nothing on a warmish February day

I love quotes!  You can find sticky notes with famous (and not-so-famous) quotes all over my desk.  I delight in moving “real” work to the side and re-discovering something I’d jotted down earlier.  It makes my day – sort of like toast with strawberry jam in the morning.

Here is a little gem in the spirit of the ever-lovable Pooh:

“Don’t underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.”  — taken from Pooh’s Little Instruction Book, inspired by A.A. Milne

Today, enjoy Doing Nothing. Especially if you have a lovely chime to keep you company!

It’s almost here!

If you’re like me, these past few weeks of winter have been killers. Too much snow, no electricity for awhile, not enough sun, erratic school schedules, etc. It’s easy to be lulled into thinking winter will never leave.

And yet…spring is just around the corner! I talked with two customers today that reminded me of that very fact. One was from Raleigh, North Carolina, who was busy planning his spring garden. It sounds like the perfect outdoor room, complete with a paddle fan and comfy chairs. Turns out, all he needed to complete the look was a Corinthian Bells chime. When spring comes to his corner of the country, he wants to be ready!

The second customer was from Minneapolis, Minnesota, who just isn’t quite seeing spring yet—still too much snow on the ground! But he’s dreaming of warmer days. Aren’t we all?

Wind chimes are a wonderful antidote to the winter blahs!
